Michigan's foreclosure rate in July ranked third highest in the nation, according to data released today by RealtyTrac Inc., an online marketplace for foreclosure properties.

Michigan reported 13,979 foreclosure filings during the month, a 39 percent increase over June and 130 percent increase over last July. Wayne County had 8,683 filings for the month, up 69.5 percent from June. Other counties: Oakland, 1,105 filings, down 0.6 percent; Macomb, 1,348 filings, up 11 percent; Livingston, eight filings, down 38.5 percent.
