Ohio was third in the nation with its number of August foreclosures, a study reports.
August statistics from California-based RealtyTrac Inc. show the state had 17,793 foreclosures, trailing California with 57,875 and Florida with 33,392.
Ohio was one of three states -- joining California and Florida -- which accounted for almost half of the 243,947 filings for the month of August, which works out to one for every 510 homes nationwide.
